I am so discouraged. I see that in America you have so many tools to assess traffic and walkability, while things aren't changing accordingly. What are we going to do with the rest of the world? The city where I live has turned into a massive parking lot in just 8 years. It was lovely, now sucks. And I don't think we have any tools like these in Europe. Everyone assumes it's not that bad but hey, things change fast.

Really useful and fun to play with, thank you.

Thanks for this summary of free tools.

Streetview history can be useful to see evolution of streetscapes.

Here is another walking and cycling catchment mapper:

The Dekra vision zero global map may also be useful to find places to see what success can look like:

The French cycling barometer is a cool piece of consultation mapping

Finally, Blitzortung is my favourite free service that tracks live lighting globally. There are a few apps that use the service to provide proximity warnings so you can decide to walk or ride early or wait it out somewhere safe.

Thanks, I hadn't heard of those.

Love it! Another cool tool in the making: Red Tape Recordings is creating a searchable database of transcripts from all public meetings http://redtaperecordings.com/early

You can upload video clips of meetings now and get searchable text, but it’s brand new so not much of a database yet!

Haven't seen that one yet, thanks.

I’d want to see a tool that replicates the Urban3 analysis on any given city street.
